Tasting Notes
Nose
Sweet vanilla breeze over a fresh summer meadow, a nice juicy peach sprinkled with some kitchen spice and floral honey. There's an almost creamy custardiness to it, like Pastel de Nata.
Taste
There's some fresh summery orange notes that intertwine with the bourbon-like vanilla hue. Toffee and biscuits enter the meadow picnic, someone's picked some wild flowers.
Finish
Long, leaves you wanting for more. It's nutty and vanilla-like with hints of oak. Another firkin exceptional dram!

Firkin hell that's a damn good dram! Got your attention?
Firkin was created by a fine gentleman named Mike Collings. A legend of the industry with an incredible track record in whisky.
Responsible for the Johnnie Walker Blue & Green Labels, The Classic Malts, Rare Malts, Distillers Edition, Flora & Fauna series, Cardhu and Royal Lochnagar, Mr. Collings is well versed in conjuring up a fine dram. You're in good hands with this one!
Mike is many things, but sensible is by far not one of them. He likes to stir the pot and poke some good-natured fun at some of the more pretentious malts out there.
That's the beautiful thing about The Firkin Whisky Co. they don't take themselves too seriously. Life is for seriously good whisky, and when your single malt is this good, you don't need to be pretentious about it.
The Firkin Whisky Co are renowned for their unique approach to cask finishes. Each dram is perfected in their own custom made, double-oak casks, and then seasoned with a perfectly paired soulmate wine.
The custom cask used to finish this Firkin Ten, was a combination of American first-fill Bourbon staves & new French Limousin oak staves, seasoned with a custom char and rich Madeira wine.
The spirit of choice for this release is a 12 year old Benrinnes, a classic Speysider, bringing a fresh fruity profile to the mix. Distilled at the foot of the Ben Rinnes hill, the spirit of Benrinnes is usually taken for use in one of Diageo's blends. A single cask release of this fine nectar is something to be savoured.
Combine this already exceptional spirit with the double-oak cask influence and the spicy richness of Madeira, and you've got yourself a Firkin unique experience.
Sounds crazy right? These guys and their hand-built casks are just crazy enough to make it work! Rich, lively and a tad spicy, Firkin exceptional!
