Na Bràithrean translates from the Scottish Gaelic meaning "The Brothers". They've chosen this name to reflect their method of finishing each release.
These guys take a single cask and split the liquid inside in half. Each half is then finished separately in different casks, with different characteristics, for different lengths of time.
This brilliantly displays the effects of different finishes on a single spirit.
The Wee Brother is the younger of the two bottlings, finished for less time and then bottled first. The second half, that is aged slightly longer, is bottled as the Big Brother.
Na Bràithrean believe that there's a whisky out there for everyone, and if you've never had a whisky you like, you just haven't tried the right one yet.
This particular release is the Big Brother of their 2009 Ledaig cask.Ledaig is the peated spirit ditilled at Tobermory Distillery on the isle of Mull.
This 12 year old islander spent all its life maturing in a bourbon hogshead, before being bottled at 50% ABV, all natural colour and without chill filtration.
