Damp autumn leaves, cherry and chocolate are countered by ripe apple and juicy pear. There's a piney, woodiness to it also, with earthy mushrooms and cloves and an ever so slight veil of smoke.
There's that Campbelltown funk we all so love and adore! Difficult to describe exactly what it is but some of the other notes poking their heads through are hazelnuts, almondy marzipan, buttered toast with honey. Biting into a crisp apple in a shady barn full of hay with just the slightest of briney, smokey tones at the end.
Smoke leads into cider and hay, the sound of funk fades away in the distance.
Springbank 10 Year Old
The heart and soul of Springbank distillery and a classic example of that funky Campbeltown spirit. The entire production of Springbank whisky is maintained in-house and the releases are incredibly limited in relation to their demand. This 10 year old expression has been matured for 10 years in a marriage of bourbon and sherry casks.
