This edition features an 11 Year Old Auchroisk, distilled in Banffshire, Speyside, aged in an ex-bourbon hogshead and bottled at a crackin' caskstrength ABV of 56.5%. What more could you want?
Auchroisk (pronounced "Oth-Rusk") means shallow ford across the red stream in Gaelic, and refers to the Mulben Burn, a small peaty stream nearby to the distillery.
Founded in 1972 by Justerini & Brooks to produce whisky for the world famous J&B blend, the Auchroisk distillery has since been bought over by drinks giant Diageo for use in their own blends.
The name is a bit of a tongue twister isn't it..? In fact, the whisky itself was actually rebranded to "The Singleton" as Diageo believed it was too hard to pronounce for non-scots. It has gone through a more few name changes in the past few years eventually landing on "The Singleton of Auchroisk".
The more you drink the easier it is to pronounce, in our opinion!!
A classic Speysider with a sweet ex-bourbon twist, you can't go wrong with this one!
